These Terms govern your use of the Coupld app.

By creating an account you agree to these Terms.

1. About These Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") form a legal agreement between you and Human Labs (a trading name of Chaos & Order Ltd) ("we", "us", "our") governing your access to and use of the Coupld mobile application ("App").

Please read these Terms carefully before using the App. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the App.

2. Who Can Use the App

You must be at least 18 years old to use Coupld. By creating an account, you confirm you are 18 or over.

You must provide accurate information when creating your account. One account per person is permitted.

3. The App: What It Does and Doesn't Do

3.1 What Coupld provides

Coupld is a relationship companion app. It provides:

Relationship quizzes to help couples understand their emotional and physical compatibility
A Gap Graph showing aligned and divergent areas between partners
A relationship archetype based on combined quiz results
Daily challenges to encourage connection and shared experiences
Points, streaks, and gamification to make engagement rewarding

3.2 What Coupld is not

Coupld is not a substitute for professional relationship counselling, therapy, or medical advice. The App provides reflection tools and conversation prompts — not clinical assessment or treatment. If you or your partner are experiencing serious relationship distress, domestic abuse, mental health difficulties, or other crises, please seek professional help.

Results within the App — including matching scores, archetypes, and challenge suggestions — are generated by algorithms and should be treated as prompts for reflection, not definitive assessments of your relationship.

4. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Do not share your account with anyone other than your linked partner.

If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, contact us at coupld.support@humanlabs.co.uk immediately.

You may delete your account at any time via Settings > Delete Account. Deletion is irreversible. See the Privacy Policy for data retention details.

5. Partner Linking

Coupld is designed for use by two people in a committed relationship. You link accounts by sharing a 6-character code with your partner. By linking:

You confirm that you have your partner's knowledge and consent to link your accounts.
You understand that certain data (first name, matching score, gap graph summary, archetype) becomes visible to your linked partner.
You understand that your individual quiz and challenge answers remain private and are never shared with your partner.

We are not responsible for any relationship decisions you make based on data displayed in the App.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App or its backend
Attempt to access another user's data without authorisation
Use the App to harass, abuse, or harm any person
Create multiple accounts or accounts for others without their consent
Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the App

We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these Terms without notice.

7. Intellectual Property

All content in the App — including its design, text, quiz questions, challenge content, scoring logic, archetypes, and branding — is owned by or licensed to Human Labs (Chaos & Order Ltd). You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our written permission.

Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.

8. User Content

If you upload a profile photograph or any other content to the App, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and display that content solely for the purpose of operating the App. You retain ownership. You confirm that any content you upload does not infringe any third party's rights.

We do not actively moderate user-uploaded content. You are responsible for ensuring any image you upload is appropriate and does not depict third parties without their consent.

9. Availability and Changes

We aim to keep the App available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, modify, or withdraw features at any time. We will give reasonable notice of significant changes where possible.

During the TestFlight beta period, the App is provided for testing purposes. Features, data, and availability may change without notice. We may reset or wipe beta data if required.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

We do not warrant that the App is error-free, that results are accurate, or that use of the App will improve your relationship.

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to the App is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. If you have not paid anything, our liability is limited to £100.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the App before they take effect. Continued use of the App after that date means you accept the updated Terms.

The current version of these Terms is always available at coupld.app/terms.
